
Taiping Zoo is located in the picturesque natural settings of Taiping Lake Gardens close to the foot of the Larut Hill (Maxwell Hill), in the quaint and historical town of Taiping, Perak. Covering an area of 34 acres, it is the only zoo in Northern Peninsular Malaysia and the only zoo with a night safari in Malaysia.
The Taiping Zoo is home to more than 180 species totaling 1,300 animals. The zoo continuously tries to increase and upgrade its "Open Concept" enclosures. Breeding has been successful for the following animals: Malayan Tiger, Lion, Siamang, Deer, Nilgai, Night Heron and many others.
