The 21st Century is witness to increased pressures on the Earth’s natural resources and is calling out for a new approach which balances the needs of people and environment based on the principles of sustainability.
Way Out Experiences (WOX) is a Social Enterprise that focuses on conservation as a means to enable the wider change towards a sustainable future. Flagship Malaysian species such as orangutans, pygmy elephants, sun bears and marine turtles are used to showcase the complex interrelationships between humans and the environment, allowing everyday people to connect to both the problems and the solutions.
WOX participates in ongoing conservation projects with willing partners who share the same ethos and who are working towards common conservation outcomes. People and organizations can become involved into these projects either through WOX’s volunteering program, education program or CSR services. Whether used singly or combined, these methods are used in creative and unique ways to create distinct and dynamic programmes that highlight WOX’s model of addressing environment + economics + people in everything it does.
There are 5 project sites at which WOX currently delivers this approach. Each project has ambitious goals that are driven by the conservation needs of the individual site and are designed to be sustainable. Furthermore, the projects are then integrated with each other in a holistic way across the region, in order to maximize and compliment ex-situ and in-situ conservation, for the survival of our flagship species and their habitats. The WOX Company Profile can be viewed or downloaded from the 'Information Centre' under the Community section of this website.
